Mount Batur sunset jeep tour

Mount Batur Jeep Sunset Service Only (Meet at Base Camp)

This afternoon jeep tour works perfectly if you hate waking up early or travel with young children. You skip the physical strain of hiking and keep your normal sleep schedule. A driver takes you straight up Mount Batur in a classic 4x4 jeep. The ride reaches 1,400 meters above sea level. You get clear volcano views and a fun offroad drive without the massive sunrise crowds.

The trip starts in the middle of the day. You have plenty of time to eat breakfast and relax at your hotel before heading to the meeting point. The route crosses the original black lava fields left behind by the 1963 eruption. These dark rocks look incredibly distinct in the afternoon light. The jeep parks at the caldera viewpoint right as the sun goes down. Read the itinerary below to see exactly how the afternoon flows.
